Frack Free Notts are extremely disappointed by the decision made on the 15th November by the NCC planning committee to approve the application by IGas for exploratory drilling at Misson Springs.
In particular we are disappointed that the committee members did not fully explore the options open to them to reject the application and instead acquiesced to IGas and the planning officer’s recommendation.
This application was almost unanimously unpopular with local residents and yet their wishes have been discounted. This application will have a negative impact on local wildlife, including that at a nearby SSSI site, and yet that was not taken into consideration.
In addition we have concerns that the NCC planning committee approved an application by a company that is financially vulnerable and unstable which may have negative implications further down the process. However, despite our immense disappointment, this will not be the last application seen in Nottinghamshire. Frack Free Notts intends to fight each and every application in Nottinghamshire.
