We’ve got 2 great events coming up where you can find out more about what fracking is and what it’s impacts are.

Firstly, we’ve teamed up with Nottingham Contemporary to screen Frack Free Somerset’s film ‘The Truth Behind the Dash for Gas‘ – this is a UK-based film that puts fracking into perspective in the UK. One of our members, Brian Davey, will introduce the film and also talk about the global perspective on unconventional oil & gas extraction – to fit in with the Contemporary’s current exhibition, Rights of Nature.

The film is on Wednesday 3rd February, 6.30pm-8pm at Nottingham Contemporary. You will need to book your place here.

Secondly, we’ve just recently acquired some pop-up banners which show posters for our new pop-up exhibition. These posters have been created by one of our members, Brian Davey, and they outline why corporations & the government are so-called ‘going all-out for shale’, along with highlighting the impacts of the industry, as well as showing the PR spin that corporations use when selling this technology to communities.

This exhibition is on Tuesday 17th February, 5.30pm-9pm at Govindas, Thurland Street, Nottingham. We’ve also managed to secure a free hot-food buffet until 8pm, so don’t miss out.

We look forward to seeing you in February.
